THE 24 TEAMS OF THE 18TH GIRO ROSA HAVE BEEN PRESENTED

Piazza Capitolo in Aquileia has been the place of the official team presentation of the Giro Rosa 2017. Each line-up, starting from Giusfredi – Bianchi until the Boels Dolmans of the last year winner Megan Guarnier came up on the stage. The crowd showed its enthusiasm especially for the three local cyclists Beatrice Bartelloni, Annalisa Cucinotta and the three times Italian National Champion Elena Cecchini, but every athlete received a lot of applauses

Enzo Cainero, President of the Stage Committee, welcomed everyone together with the Majors of Aquileia and Grado in the beautiful Friuli, and the local choirs made their singing performance which anticipated the big presentation of the Giro Rosa teams.

Every time will race with seven riders each and the Giro will begin tomorrow at 4:45 PM with the spectacular Team Time Trial which will assign the Maglia Rosa. The Giusfredi – Bianchi will be the first leaving from Aquileia and the Boels Dolmans closes. its line up includes Megan Guarnier, the World Champion Amalie Dideriksen and the Olmpic Champion of Rio 2016 Anna Van der Breggen. The two leaders of the Women’s World Tour Katarzyna Niewiadoma (GC – WM3 Team) and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Young – Cervelo Bigla Pro Cycling Team).

The final greeting was made by the President of the Italian Cycling Federation Renato Di Roccowith the Giro Director Giuseppe Rivolta, ready for another edition with new emotions to live.

PRESENTATE LE 24 SQUADRE DEL 28° GIRO ROSA

Nella splendida cornice di Piazza Capitolo ad Aquileia si è svolta la presentazione dei teams che da domani fino a domenica 9 luglio si daranno battaglia sulle strade italiane per l’edizione 2017 del Giro Rosa. Ad una ad una, dalla Giusfredi – Bianchi fino alla Boels Dolmans della campionessa uscente Megan Guarnier sono salite sul palco tutte le squadre. Grande entusiasmo per le atlete di casa Beatrice Bartelloni, Annalisa Cucinotta e la tre volte campionessa d’Italia Elena Cecchini, ma altrettanto importante è stato l’applauso per ogni atleta.

Enzo Cainero, Presidente del Comitato Tappa, insieme ai sindaci di Aquileia e Grado, hanno dato il proprio benvenuto in terra friulana, mentre i cori locali hanno regalato una performance canora che ha fatto da “antipasto” ai teams del Giro Rosa.

Le squadre correranno con sette atlete ciascuna e a partire dalle 16:45 di domani pomeriggio saliranno in bici per la spettacolare cronometro a squadre che assegnerà la prima, attesissima Maglia Rosa. Il Team Giusfredi Bianchi sarà la prima squadra al via, mentre chiuderà la Boels Dolmans capitanata dalla già citata Megan Guarnier, con la campionessa mondiale in carica Amalie Dideriksen e l’oro olimpico di Rio 2016 Anna Van der Breggen. Ci sono anche le due leader delle classifiche World Tour, Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Classifica Generale – Team WM3) e Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Classifica Giovani – Cervelo Bigla Pro Cycling Team).

Il saluto finale della serata lo ha svolto il Presidente della Federazione Ciclistica Italiana Renato Di Rocco insieme al Direttore del Giro e Patron Giuseppe Rivolta, carichi per una edizione con nuove emozioni da vivere.

28TH GIRO ROSA, AQUILEIA AND GRADO ARE READY FOR THE BIG START

The two host cities of the opening Team Time Trial are very ready to welcome the athletes who are going to take part to the most important stage race in the world of Women’s Cycling. The roads of Grado and Aquileia are full of decorations, banners and flowerbeds dedicated to the event. The Main Square of Aquileia, Piazza Capitolo and its Basilica is also prepared with a stage where tomorrow at 20:45 there will be the Team Presentation, composed of seven athletes each. This stage will be used for the TTT start on Friday, 30th June. The stage is 11.5 kms long, along the magnificient Laguna of Grado, where at the end the first jerseys of the 2017 edition will be assigned, included the prestigious Maglia Rosa of the General Classification.

The Friuli – Venezia Giulia Region, hosts the Giro Rosa after the very successful stage Tarcento – Montenars one year ago. In that occasion the American Evelyn Stevens found the victory in a small group sprint on the uphill finish. The stages in Friuli are two this year: after the Big Start in Aquileia and Grado, the stage 2 Zoppola – Montereale Valcellina will be raced.

28° GIRO ROSA, AQUILEIA E GRADO PRONTE ALLA GRANDE PARTENZA

Le due località sedi di tappa della cronometro a squadre di apertura sono ormai prontissime ad accogliere le atlete partecipanti alla corsa a tappe femminile più importante al mondo, il Giro Rosa. Le strade di Grado e Aquileia sono già tappezzate con decorazioni, striscioni e aiuole dedicate alla manifestazione; anche Piazza Capitolo, con la magnifica Basilica romanica di Aquileia dove domani sera alle ore 20:45 verranno presentati i team, composti da 7 atlete ciascuno. Sul medesimo palco verrà allestita la rampa da cui partiranno le concorrenti venerdì 30 giugno le stesse atlete si sfideranno nella spettacolare e inedita cronosquadre di 11.5 chilometri lungo la Laguna di Grado, che assegnerà le prime, speciali maglie dell’edizione 2017, tra cui l’ambitissima Maglia Rosa, valida per la Classifica Generale.

Il Friuli – Venezia Giulia, torna ad ospitare Giro Rosa dopo il grandissimo successo ottenuto un anno fa, quando la statunitense Evelyn Stevens si impose nella Tarcento – Montenars. Nel 2017 saranno ben due le tappe in terra friulana: oltre alla Grande Partenza di Grado e Aquileia, sabato è in programma la Zoppola – Montereale Valcellina, valida come prima tappa in linea.

THE 28TH GIRO ROSA IS GOING TO BE READY

There are about 10 days to go for the Big Start of the Giro Rosa 2017 in Aquileia with a never-ending preparation. Some events have been programmed in the small town of the Friuli Region for Thursday, 29th June: in the afternoon there will be the Licence Verification and the Technical Meeting reserve to Teams, Organization and Jury. The Official Public Team Presentation will take place in the evening, at 9 PM, in the magnificient Square of the Basilica in Aquileia. There will be daily highlights in the late afternoon on Raitre of each stage.

FERVONO I PREPARATIVI PER IL 28° GIRO ROSA

A una decina di giorni dalla grande partenza di Aquileia continuano senza sosta i preparativi per il Giro Rosa 2017. Nella cittadina friulana è stata programmata per giovedì 29 giugno la giornata dedicata a verifica licenze e riunione tecnica riservate a squadre, giuria e organizzazione e in serata ci sarà la pubblica presentazione delle 24 squadre al via, alle ore 21 davanti alla splendida Basilica di Aquileia. La RAI sarà la televisione ufficiale della gara, con sintesi quotidiane nel tardo pomeriggio su Raitre.
